GMC Play-in Round Picks

Good morning guys, great day of basketball yesterday even though I went 1-3 in picking games. I nearly had the exact score for the St. Benedict's game and the Oak Hill game clearly could've gone either way and was the best high school game I've seen in a while. Ridge took Monroe by surprise a little bit and the Falcons didn't look like their normal selves and played probably their worst game all season. St. Joe's also lost to Plainfield. They hung tough but Plainfield's 3's as well as speed and athleticism were just too much. Joe's cut it to a 1 point lead several times but couldn't get over the hump. Plainfield then went on a 7-0 run to take a 42-34 lead and there was no looking back from there. St. Joe's didn't play well and Plainfield really shot the lights out. I think St. Joe's is definitely capable of hanging with them, they just didn't tonight.

As it turns out, my original part 3 of my 4 day high school preview has been put on hiatus in all likelihood because of the St. Pat's ban from the state tournament which has been appealed by St. Pat's. I don't see why they need to hold every bracket up though. They should just wait to seed the Non-Public North B and post every other bracket. Anyway here are the opening round play-in games to the GMC Tournament. St Joe's is the #1 and Monroe is the #2 in the bracket. At the outset, I like these two teams to meet in the championship with St. Joe's winning the title. But I'm going to give my picks on a round by round basis. Today are the Play-in games.
